Structural Integration (the generic term for Rolfing)
Structural Integration is a technique of enhancing the body’s own relationship with gravity by skillfully manipulating connective tissue and fascia. This technique was first developed by Dr Ida P Rolf.
Rolfing is offered at the Clinic by Matthew Maran.
Through techniques of Structural Integration, Matthew places emphasis on fascial release and lengthening techniques that help to bring realignment to the body’s fascial web and addresses the suspensory component inherent in easeful posture, affording the body greater potential; often providing relief from chronic pain, better balance, increased breath, greater flexibility increased energy and thus, a lighter sense of movement and being.
As the name suggests, Structural Integration is a system of 10 basic integrative sessions that systematically progress through the body. These are centred around client participation, thereby allowing the client to utilise movement to re-educate their body and achieve a deeper physical being or self.
A Holographic Body® Reading is taken, this enables the client to be assessed thoroughly pre and post session, offering maximum opportunity for physical and emotional feedback.
